  Drugs and Alcohol Awareness  
   

  COURSE OUTLINE
   
  The aim of this course is to develop awareness of drugs and alcohol misuse both within the workplace and with vulnerable groups.
   
  This short course covers:
 
The culture of alcohol and drugs
Levels of use/misuse
Identification of drug and alcohol problems
People at Risk
Types of drugs
Alcohol and Drugs testing
Misuse in the workplace
Employment - Rights and Responsibilities
Legislation, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
Who can help?
   
  The course is aimed at individuals, as well as People Managers, who need to develop an awareness of drugs and alcohol misuse for their own benefit or for the benefit of those they work with.
   
  This course is brought to you by tutors who are qualified counsellors and members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
   
  DURATION
  7 - 10 hours
   
  TIME LIMIT
  Learners should aim to complete the course within 3 months.
   
  ASSIGNMENTS / CERTIFICATION
  Learners are required to complete 3 tutor-marked assignments. Learners who pass all 3 assignments will receive a Certificate of Completion.
   
  TUTOR SUPPORT
  During the course e-mail support is provided by one of our qualified counsellors.
   
  REFERENCE NOTES
  Learners who pass all 4 assignments will also recieve a PDF version of the topics covered in the course for future reference.
   
  REQUIREMENTS
  Learners must have access to a PC installed with Internet access. Learners should have basic IT skills and be familiar with using Microsoft Internet Explorer. Learners must also have an e-mail address and be able to send/receive messages.
